An antiscalant is then added to prevent calcium and magnesium salts, among others, from fouling the membranes, which leads to a loss of treated water flow.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reverse_Osmosis\"><\/span><strong>Reverse Osmosis<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/jhuesa.com\/en\/technologies\/reverse-osmosis\">reverse osmosis system<\/a> is in 3+1 (18m3\/h) \/ 3+2 (28 m3\/h) \/ 12+6 (92 m3\/h) configuration with a conversion rate of around 70 -75 % with a flow rate of 25, 38 and 132 m\u00b3 \/hour, so that a permeate of 18, 28 and 92 m\u00b3 \/hour is obtained throughout the working day. The installation is equipped with spiral wound membranes, made of polyamide, and specially designed for brackish water up to 8000 ppm and with the characteristic of working at low pressure. They are mounted in 300 psi pressure housings, made of coiled GRP<\/p>\n<p>These membranes have a <strong>high chemical resistance<\/strong>, as they can work in a pH range of 2 to 13, which makes them very easy to wash and recover, as they can accept a <strong>wide variety of washing chemicals.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A flushing system has been installed in the <strong>reverse osmosis skid<\/strong> to ensure automatic cleaning of the membranes inside the tube. These cleanings are programmed from the touch screen, according to the needs of the operators and\/or every time the plant is stopped.
