Water sustains life, fuels the economy and shapes the development of societies. Yet more than 2.1 billion people around the world still lack safe access to this essential resource<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To mark World Water Day<\/strong>, the United Nations invites us this year to reflect on the relationship between water and gender<\/strong>, reminding us that ensuring access to water not only improves health and quality of life, but also opens the door to greater opportunities for development and equality for millions of people worldwide.<\/p>\n

Every 22 March<\/strong>, the world celebrates World Water Day, an initiative led by the United Nations to highlight the importance of protecting and sustainably managing one of the most essential resources for life and development.<\/p>\n

In a context defined by climate change, growing water demand and the challenges associated with water security, this day becomes an opportunity to reflect on how we use, manage and preserve this strategic resource.<\/p>\n

Since its creation in 1993, World Water Day sought to raise awareness of the need to guarantee universal access to safe drinking water and sanitation, an objective aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Water is not only a natural resource: it is a driver of development, health and progress for societies.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
